We are asking our first responder family to come together in support of one of our own.
Shelly Cochran, a dedicated member of the EMS and fire service community, is currently critically ill and courageously battling leukemia. She is at Sunrise Hospital awaiting transfer to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston for advanced treatment.
Shelly’s service to others spans decades. She began her career in EMS in 1985 with Mercy Ambulance as an EMT-Intermediate, later serving as a Public Information Officer. More recently, she continued her commitment to the community as a volunteer firefighter and AEMT with Clark County Fire Department, and had just stepped into a new role as a recruiter for CCFD.
Those who know Shelly know her heart for service, her strength, and the impact she’s had on so many lives.
At this time, we are asking for prayers, positive thoughts, and messages of encouragement to help lift her spirits as she fights this battle. Support from this community means more than words can express.
Please keep Shelly and her family in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.

A long time resident and Mercy Ambulance/ Former AMR employee Shelly Cochran, just received some very devastating news. Approximately 3 weeks ago she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, blood cancer. She is under going a 30 day treatment protocol in Texas and then being transferred for treatment at MD Anderson. This has caused her to resign from her job and temporarily relocate to Texas. She is also the primary caregiver of her disabled son Sean. She has dedicated her life as a First Responder to be of service to others and now she needs our help. If you are in a position to, a GoFund Me account has been set up to help her with the financial challenges that are coming. If you are not in a financial position to help, please keep Shelly and her family in your prayers during this very trying time. Thank you.🙏🙏🙏.
